1.2 Payment Information

When you make purchases, subscribe to plans or add money to your wallet, our payment partners (Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Paystack, Flutterwave and Paytm) process your payment details. We do not store your credit card or bank account numbers on our servers.

1.3 Reading & Usage Data

We collect information about your reading activity including books purchased, reading progress, bookmarks, pages read, reading time, audiobook listening history, magazine subscriptions and genre preferences to provide personalised recommendations and cross-device sync.

1.4 Author Information

If you register as an author, we additionally collect your bank account details for monthly payouts, tax identification information and publishing activity data including uploads, sales and earnings.

1.5 Device & Technical Data

We automatically collect device type, operating system, app version, IP address, browser type, language preference, crash logs and general location data to improve app performance and provide relevant content.

1.6 Communication Data

We collect data related to push notification preferences, email notification settings, in-app messages and customer support communications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide and maintain your Nakoda eBooks Library account and services, process purchases, subscriptions, refunds and wallet transactions, sync your reading progress, bookmarks and library across devices, generate AI-powered book recommendations based on your reading history and genre preferences, display personalised home feed, flash deals and relevant content, process author payouts, earnings reports and sales analytics, send push notifications about orders, deals, new releases and account updates, manage referral and reward credits in your wallet, generate invoices and maintain order and transaction records, detect fraud, prevent abuse and enforce our terms of service, and improve our platform through analytics and usage patterns.

3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

If you are an author, your author profile name, bio, published books and follower count are publicly visible to readers on the platform. Your bank details and payout information are never shared publicly.

4. Data Storage & Security

We store your data on secure Firebase and cloud servers with industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission using SSL/TLS protocols, secure authentication with password hashing, role-based access controls for admin and author panels, screenshot enable/disable controls for content protection, and regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Cookies & Tracking

Our web version uses essential cookies to maintain your login session, remember your theme preference (light or dark mode), store your language selection, and save reading progress for offline access. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

6. Your Rights & Choices

6.1 Access & Update

You can access and update your profile information, photo, email and phone number at any time through the Profile Details section in the app.

6.2 Reading Data

You can clear your recent search history and manage your genre preferences from the app settings.

6.3 Notifications

You can manage or disable push notifications and email notifications from your device settings or the in-app notification preferences.

6.4 Download Your Data

You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us at the email address provided below.

6.5 Delete Your Account

You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated data through our Delete Account page or by contacting our support team. Please note that order and payment records may be retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.

7. Children's Privacy

Nakoda eBooks Library is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. Author payout records and sales data are retained as required by financial regulations.

By using our platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to servers located in regions where our cloud infrastructure operates.
